  Draconian Rules for Attending "Special Convention"

  british dubs are invited to attend a special convention next summer in dublin , irish republic.

  o k, this kind of trip has been done many times before.

  however i have never seen such a crude and rigid set of rules that would apply to their own people going on a trip, at their own expense of course.

  Remember the Nazi eugenics program? While not quite that despicable it looks as if their PR department is get ready for lots of photo ops with this crew of well-dressed, well-groomed, good looking (no obesity allowed) people. Oh, and no wheel chairs since they will slow us up (or down).

  If I've just been baptized at age 6, such as examples promoted in various yearbooks, why am I suddenly not old enough (age 12) to accompany my baptized parents?

  In the past 10 years or so the Society has made it clear that there is no difference, at to purposes of penalties and shunning, between DF'd and DA'd folks.

  In the old days they created the DA situation for obvious legal reasons. Don't DF those in the military cuz headquarters could get shut down. Instead, we'll say a military person DA'd himself. "No, we didn't kick him out -- he kicked himself out".

  Another Point Against Disfellowshipping (Even the WT can't deny)

  i have been shifting some ideas around and the threat of disfellowshipping may actually help me in this instance.

  if you've read my other posts, you know why it is i'm on here.

  and you know that i am adamant.. but in the research of disfellowship, i've tried thinking of good, alternate arguments or points of reasoning before pressing the red button.

  Hi Arko,

  I think most all on this board will agree with what you've said. The hatred of JW's toward the ExJWs appears to be increasing especially when it's encouraged out of those recent pages of Watchtower. It used to be -- at least what I remember from years ago -- that we were to hate the wrongdoing -- not the wrongdoer.

  This was always one of my pet peeves when a JW, that is, prayer in public -- a restaurant to be specific. We did it as a family but I never liked it.

  Here in the South U.S., it is very common. Lots of Baptists and Church of Christ. I suspect more than half of families and couples practice this.

This passage from the Gospel of Matthew was quoted by many readers who object to Tim Tebow's showy displays of his faith on the football field ... " "Hey Tebowers," wrote Bill De Armond of Winfikeld, Kans. "What part of Matthew 6:5-8 do you not understand?"

  Then, on that game winning reception last Sunday, "When I saw him scoring, first of all, I just thought, Thank you, Lord." -- Tim Tebow.

  I find it refreshing that the Creator is taking a few moments from dealing with 5-yr-olds in cancer wards to help the Denver Broncos win that football game.
